INITIATION
In the initiation phase, we define the project at a broad level, research whether the project is feasible and if it should be undertaken, and the stakeholders do their due diligence to help decide if the project is a “go.”
PLANNING
This phase is key to our successful programs and focuses on developing a road-map to follow. We set goals and define objectives. We use one popular method for setting goals S.M.A.R.T. – Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely.
EXECUTION
In this phase, our programs deliverables are developed and completed. We develop teams of volunteers, assign resources, coordinate with the designated communities, execute the program plans, set up tracking systems, and involve the local people.

MONITORING
This phase is about measuring project progression and performance and ensuring that everything happening aligns with the project management plan. We use key performance indicators (KPIs) to determine if the project is on track, and we report to sponsors.
CONTROLLING
We pick two to five of these KPIs to measure and control project performance: Project Objectives – Quality Deliverables – Effort and Cost Tracking – Project Performance
CLOSING
This phase represents the completed project. Once a project is complete, we evaluate what went well and identify project failures to understand lessons learned so that improvements can be made for future projects. We get community satisfaction surveys.
